Indie 101: Proper Email

Indie 101: Hello independent artist! This is a 101 about presentation of an email. Remember this is not personal. We are here to help you! I recieve several emails and have noticed the same issue on almost all of them. Yes we are asking for submissions, but we also want you to be professional.

Not for our sake, but for when you send emails to others besides us. Most people will delete your email without giving you a chance. If your forwarding an email to us, make sure you take the time to delete the prior forward and the extra information that's not needed to send.

Subject: Should be a powerful approach (but not the words FREE or Hottest) Stem away from words like these. I suggest using your track name. Because for the most part, it should be an original.

Hello whomever,

I'm ..... (Your words of what you want to get across. Make sure it's straight to the point but elaborate)

Thanks again, (or some form of gratitude)

Your Name
Contacts

Hope this helps with future networking. It should if done properly. Next Indie 101 we are going to talk about tagging your music. IMPORTANT! -Independent Mixtape Grind
